Weekly update

This hot, sunny week we have been learning about the importance of rain and how much we all need water. We have been wearing our hats and drinking lots of water when we play outside. We threaded pasta onto wool to make rain for our fluffy rain cloud, painted a rainbow and made splattered rain pictures outside. We also played with a water track and ice as we looked at frozen water. We listened for the ‘P’ sound and shared lots of stories. We enjoyed colour mixing and looking for bugs outside. We found a ladybird and a snail.

We have been continuing with our splish, splash, splosh topic this week. We have been learning about different types of boats. We had great fun playing outside in the puddles too.

As we continue this term’s topic of Splish, Splash, Splosh, this week we have been learning about fish. We collaged a large fish and painted small ones. We enjoyed the story of the Big Bad Fish and also revisited Goldilocks and the Three Bears as we discussed size. We have re-potted our tomato plants outside and have been watering them to help them grow. Our sound of the week is ‘a’.
