Year 3 News

Welcome back to Year 3 and to the Summer Term. So far the weather has been lovely, let’s hope it continues! Please remember to send your children in with a hat and water bottle and apply sun cream in the morning.

We have lots of new learning to look forward to, including Investigating Light, The UK, WW2, designing a puppet theatre and English work linked to chocolate!

The children will be starting their swimming lessons on Monday 23rd April so please remember they need to come dressed in school uniform and bring their swim kit in separate bag. Our second P.E. lesson will be tennis, delivered by an experienced tennis coach.

For more detail please see the Year 3 Summer Curriculum Pamphlet

We look forward to an exciting Summer Term!

This term’s value is Perseverance.

With this in mind, our Talk Topic for the next week asks children to consider and discuss:

‘What is the most difficult challenge you have faced or are facing and how did you/will you overcome it?

We look forward to hearing all about the challenges over the coming week.

This week’s Talk Topic is making the children think really hard. We have had some excellent thoughts so far.

“Look at some money and imagine it’s journey to your home.  Who else might have had it? What might it have been used to buy?

Talk Topic 3

Following on from Friday’s ‘Jeans for Genes day’, this week’s Talk topic states

‘Lots of people wear jeans. Why?’

We are asking the children to consider why this is. Have fun finding out why people you know do or do not like wearing jeans.
