Year 6 News

This Week

Monday, July 1, 2019

We have been very busy in Eagles this week! We are rehearsing for our play (which is looking really good!) and busy making lots of props. Not only are we rehearsing, but we are still doing lots of work. Our current topic is Endurance, which is all about polar expeditions. We have been learning about climate change, Ernest Shackleton and how to prepare for a polar expedition.

In maths over the last few weeks, we planned and made a maths board game for a different year group. This week, we got to go to the specific year group and play our games with the children. We really enjoyed it and so did the other classes.

Isle of Wight 2019 – Day 4

A brilliant long walk along the sea front and up Shanklin Chine swept the cobwebs away.  This was followed by fossil hunting and the search for dinosaur fossils (some of which were found!).  The evening entertainment was a round of crazy golf on the sea front.  What a wonderful day.
