As St Lawrence Church of England Primary is a Voluntary Aided school, the admissions policy is set by the Governing Board.

There are two separate application processes for entry into the Nursery and entry into the  Main School Reception class.


The Nursery application process is organised by the school and parents needs to apply direct to the school on the school's own nursery application form.   Children are admitted termly in September, January and April according to their date of birth.  The nursery unit offers part time places (15 hours per week) and full time (30 hours per week) for children from 3 years of age.


The Reception application process is undertaken by Bedford Borough Council.  Parents need to apply online at

Children are normally admitted to school at the start of or during the Reception year, that is the school year in which they become 5. Parents of children born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 who are due to be admitted in September 2021 will be required to apply to the local authority where they live for a school place.
