Physical Education

"Let Your Light Shine" Matthew 5:14-16

At St. Lawrence, our aim is to inspire all children to develop a love of physical activity and sport and to leave our school physically literate and confident to continue their ‘PE Journey’.

Through good physical education, whole school values and a whole child approach, St. Lawrence aims to nurture confident, resilient children who will constantly strive to do their best. We aim to ensure that our curriculum delivery enables children of all abilities to develop the skills and mindset to leave primary school with the capabilities to be successful in their sporting challenges both in their secondary education and beyond, so they are able to lead active lives.

We also aim to educate both children and families to develop a greater knowledge on how to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle, making healthy choices. We are dedicated to ensuring healthy minds along with healthy bodies which will help to contribute to support our children’s well-being.

Young Leader Training - Monday 12th September

Year 6 children all received training to become Young Leaders. They were trained to organise a variety of games to play and lead across all the year groups to help them gain valuable experience of leadership. They had the chance to practise their new skills with children from KS1. They all thoroughly enjoyed the morning working with the different children and are looking forward to putting this into practise during lunch-times.
